Originally from southern Oregon, Zack has been interested in science and computers his entire life, from modding video games at 13 to digging through the recycling bin at the local community college to build computers at 16. Initially inspired by a limited budget, Zack developed a passion for taking broken or secondhand things and fixing them. He pursued a bachelor’s degree in business administration IT management and soon became fascinated by data science, enticed by intriguing phrases like artificial intelligence and machine learning. After earning a credential in data science, he moved to work in central Texas where he lives with his wife and dog.
When it comes to hobbies, Zack embodies the idea of being a “jack of all trades, master of none.” At the start of the year, he might be obsessed with ancient Roman coins. By the end of the year, he has probably gone through five other hobbies and might be in the midst of learning to play the saxophone. Most recently, however, Zack is interested in camping with his family, brewing beer and playing chess.
