Originally from Vermillion, South Dakota, Troy moved to Colorado to study jazz and classical piano at the University of Northern Colorado. After completing his bachelor's degree, he co-founded a performing arts school for creatives of all ages in Fort Collins, Colorado, and over a ten-year stretch, Troy served as music director and accompanist for over 3,000 performances in Denver and Northern Colorado.
Although he enjoyed an immensely rewarding career as a musician, something strange happened in the late 2000s. Troy borrowed a copy of Michael Lewis’s "Moneyball" from a friend, and everything changed for him. More books on statistics and probability followed, and, exploring his new passion for all things data, Troy returned to school in 2015 to complete bachelor's and master's degrees in stats. After serving as a statistical consultant and instructor while working on his master’s, Troy couldn’t be happier to find himself at InterWorks as an Analytics Consultant.
Beyond the realm of data (if there is such a thing), Troy enjoys running, hiking in the Rockies, collecting vinyl and recording music. He and his wife are horror movie aficionados and are always down for a night out (or in) for dinner and the latest scary movie.
