Born and raised in Taiwan, Kate had a huge culture shock when she moved to America. After a few years in middle school, she managed to adjust to the environment, culture and language, developing flexibility and determination along the way. Having finished middle and high school in San Diego, California, she went on to complete her bioengineering degree at UC-Riverside with the aim of becoming a bioengineer to help patients.
Years later, Kate found herself in the biotechnology industry, manufacturing drugs for patients with cancer. While her love for helping people was fulfilled, she was eager to engage in a role with more creativity and problem-solving. In her pursuit of challenges requiring imaginative solutions, she made a drastic professional pivot, drawing upon the resilience and adaptability she developed when she was younger. Kate chased her love of coding to a web developer bootcamp, which ultimately led her to InterWorks and her current role as a Curator Engineer.
When not coding, Kate can be found at a boba shop or eating Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese food. She also loves to spend her time watching anime, gaming with her friends and doing outdoor activities, such as snowboarding and rock climbing.
Kate has been really busy, but we'll get some of that brilliant content out of them soon.
