Growing up in rural Oklahoma, Matthew first broke into IT in high school by way of web development. In fact, he became the web master of his school – nevermind that he graduated with 18 people. After graduating high school, Matthew thought, “Why not graduate a few more times?”
Matthew went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in engineering and technology management – both from OSU. After college, Matthew was proud to work as a civil servant for the State of Oklahoma for over 10 years.
Perhaps his most pronounced personality traits, Matthew’s natural curiosity and DIY spirit have shown themselves in a myriad of ways. He built his own DVR, has created several apps (including a lotto number predictor, which sadly wasn’t successful) and is currently designing a roof-sized LED Christmas light display.
But when it comes to what is really close to Matthew’s heart, it’s without a doubt family life. This includes his wife, Sheri, his daughter, Mackenzie, and the latest addition to the family, their son, William. So, even when Matthew is immersed in his numerous hobbies, like playing electric bass, trying to become a blacksmith, or just taking his Harley out for a cruise, he’s never far from home.
