Manufactured in Saudi Arabia and born in the Philippines with Spanish heritage, Jubail is refreshingly different. As a food/drink connoisseur and composure expert, Jubail has been fortunate to experience eating balut (an 18-day-old fertilized duck egg) in the streets of Philippines and entered college at the age 16, albeit in the middle of a SARS outbreak.
But is a connoisseur solely limited to inanimate objects? Does an expert plateau in his or her craft? Jubail continually seeks to disprove such concepts by appreciating, and sharing with listeners, the beautiful intricacies in fusing old-world ingredients with modern culinary techniques. His journey, both in food and life, is best captured in the words of Anthony Bourdain: “The journey is part of the experience; an expression of the seriousness of one's intent. One does not take a train to Mecca.”
Prior to joining InterWorks, Jubail managed a team for the world’s largest retailer, consulting on data mining and consumer insights across various business segments. He and his wife, Alicia, currently reside in both Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Bentonville, Arkansas, and have a little girl. In his free time, Jubail enjoys training at a local CrossFit Box and rooting for his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks. Woopig!
