Bas grew up in the Netherlands and Washington, surrounded by a love for learning, the outdoors, and tight-knit family. His passion for exploring new places and perspectives led him from Europe to the Pacific Northwest, then to Minnesota for college.

He spends his free time outdoors hiking, playing sports like soccer and pickleball, or unwinding with board games and strategy puzzles. At home, life revolves around his three dogs and enjoying small adventures with siblings and friends. Environmental causes and supporting education are especially important to him, shaped by time spent wandering the woods and by his family’s teaching background.

Bas is happiest when helping others and learning alongside a great team. He tackles challenges head-on—dribbling a soccer ball 26 miles and hiking the Enchantments are just a few examples. He brings curiosity, warmth and a can-do attitude to every project, always ready for the next trail or puzzle.
