Barbara has held a variety of jobs in her life: constructional drawing, working in geographic information systems and dabbling with a bit of graphic design. She even started her own little online business and briefly worked on a construction site.

Since she was always fascinated by the coding facet of most of these jobs, Barbara eventually started working as a web developer in Brooklyn. After a break to have twins, she decided to return to full-time learning to get her bachelor’s degree in computer science. After that, she became involved in a data science bootcamp, which is where she fell in love with data engineering. She is always looking to improve her skills and is eager to tackle the new challenges that await her in her role at InterWorks.

In her free time, Barbara loves all kinds of outdoor activities. Having met her husband, Christoph, in a rowing club and climbing the Corsican Mountains together, they are now trying to convince their teenage twins to join them in their outdoors activities with their camper van. When those persuasive attempts fail, Barbara also finds enjoyment in city life, meeting up with friends at a cafe or bar in Berlin or reading the newest productivity or tech blog.
