When asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, a young Mark Cordeiro often replied with such realistic and attainable goals as Jedi Knight or Starfleet Officer. Being a Content Coordinator is less spaceships and more space/shift keys, but he's coping well enough—though he’d be lying if he said he didn’t try to occasionally move things with the Force or beam himself out.
Hailing from Edmond, Oklahoma, Mark grew up fascinated by anything with a good story, be it movie, book or especially video game. He earned his Eagle Scout at the age of 14 and continued with the Boy Scouts through the end of high school. Eventually, he worked at Philmont Scout Ranch during his summers off from college.
He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism, though his major focused on creative writing instead of traditional journalistic practices. It was here he learned to indulge his creative side and found that he loves creating new and exciting worlds. He prefers sci-fi or fantasy but even dabbles in horror from time to time. He also started LARPing around that time, which is a great indicator of how objectively and unbelievably cool he is.
Now, Mark is bringing his passion for writing, content creation and ensuring everyone’s voice is heard to InterWorks. When he’s not at work, he’s usually gaming or doing more physical activities like running or working out. Usually, though, he’s always thinking about what his next story will be and how he’ll share it with the world.
