For as long as he can remember, Ryan has always been torn between two worlds – music and sports. A series of major knee reconstructions pre-maturely ended any dreams of playing anything other than pick-up games past high school. It was that ever-present love of sports though that gave him his first taste in what would become his ultimate career path – data analysis.
After a brief but moderately-successful venture into the music realm, Ryan returned to James Madison University to finish up his BBA. It wasn’t until a certain professor opened his eyes to the field of market analytics that he realized he could leverage the fundamentals behind his lifelong interest in sports stats into a career.
An eye for aesthetics and a bit of an anal-retentive streak led him to data visualization and subsequently Tableau. When he’s not de-cluttering and organizing your data, you can find him de-cluttering and organizing the cabinets in his kitchen or the shelves in his bookcase. Just kidding … but not really.
