“There is something about playing a musical instrument that attracts coders,” Javod states. “I haven’t determined whether it’s the mathematical aspect of beats and time signatures or the artistry that is inherent in both creating music and code. Maybe it’s both.”
Javod spends most of his free time coding or playing piano and guitar. The ability to work out a problem or difficult guitar riff is what drives him to push harder. “There’s no greater feeling than to discover you can now create something that you couldn’t before.” He often contributes to open-source projects and, should he be near a beach, gets back in touch with his California roots by going surfing.
