Alex studied industrial engineering in Berlin, Germany, to follow his curiosity and interest in system thinking and analytical reasoning. Attracted by the city's dynamic start-up business culture, he worked for different eCommerce companies after he completed his studies.
As Alex moved into the next phase of his career, his positions centered around marketing intelligence with a strong focus on customer analytics and campaign optimization. As an intermediary between marketing and BI departments, he quickly learned to speak both languages, with a fluency in data visualization a big part of that. This led him to Tableau, which was a short step away from finding InterWorks and landing here as an analytics consultant. A guiding principle of his work is finding the right balance between creativity and logic.
In his free time, many of Alex's interests revolve around technology and the sciences. He is into staying on the cutting edge of the industry and exploring the latest technical gadgets, as well as listening to electronic music. When he needs to escape reality for a bit, sci-fi literature always manages to be a big time-sink for him. However, when he needs to plant his feet firmly back on the ground, he loves turning to sports like running and table tennis.
