Sam Riley
Employee Experience Specialist
Sam is from a dual-nationality home and has family here and there across the world too, which may be at the root of her interest in languages and the ways that people communicate with each other (she's just as interested in the ways that people fail to communicate with each other). This led to her studies in French and Linguistics at the Universities of Liverpool and Paris.

Prior to joining InterWorks, Sam spent years working in project planning for IPTV and digital signage systems, mostly for sports stadia and banking clients, which was character building not least because of having to weather terrible project manager jokes all the time. Working with different people to realise projects with various requirements and outcomes was alternately a joy and a fascinating ordeal, but seeing the nuts and bolts of a system come together and then get used in the real world made it all worth doing.

Sam’s recruitment experience comes from running the local recruitment pipeline for a national charity that operates in the field of mental health and suicide prevention, bringing through people who want to train to volunteer. She loves finding out about the person and the motivations underneath the CV and personal statement.

When not working she’ll be out riding bikes, glad to be outdoors whatever the weather, however that love does not extend to camping! Sam can be tempted indoors by a good movie, delicious food, and board games.
