During graduate school, Kathryn, more commonly known as Katie, found her passion in public policy, diving into social policy and city planning. She loves understanding how all the pieces of communities connect, and this has served her well in analytics.
Katie now applies her experience in both local government and the private sector to her role as an analytics consultant at InterWorks. She loves leveraging data to come up with solutions to complex problems. She gets particularly excited seeing how insights from analytics are implemented in businesses and cities.
Originally from the Atlanta suburbs, Katie spent a few years as a Midwesterner in Central Illinois before coming back south to New Orleans. She’s especially grateful for the music and liveliness of the city and that she is able to find sweet tea whenever she wants. A lover of pretty much anything outdoors, she specifically enjoys hiking, biking and sailing (she recalls her days working for REI quite fondly). Having biked across the state of Iowa and road tripped across most of the US, she now spends most weekends on Lake Pontchartrain. In colder months (which are fortunately few and far between), she is likely tinkering with DIY projects indoors and enjoying a good cup of coffee with her partner, Aran, and their orange tabby cat, King.
