People like knowing when they share the popular opinion or when they’ve found some undiscovered gem. Sometimes it confirms that they are a normal member of society. Other times, it gives them bragging rights as a trendsetter.
One new way Portals for Tableau enables this obsession is the ability to show the number of times a given dashboard has been favorited by others. When this feature is activated, the favorites score will appear next to the favorites icon (i.e. star), in both the dashboard action-buttons area when viewing a dashboard and on the homepage when showing dashboard tiles.
In fact, we’ve also added a new homepage type to show the most-favorited dashboards, making it easy to join the popular table in the cafeteria or to humblebrag that you discovered all of the best dashboards organically before they were cool.
