Dell Paper Jam Error Codes

Everybody can relate to Samir Nagheenanajar’s printer frustration in the movie office space. That paper can get stuck in places that you didn’t even know exist. Luckily on most of the new Dell printers it will give you an different error code depending on where the paper got stuck. here is a breakdown of the different error codes.

  • Paper Jam 0 – This means the jam is in the paper feed tray. You can get to this buy opening up the paper tray. If the paper is too far up you can also get to it by removing the toner cartridge.
  • Paper Jam 1 – There is a jam in the fuser. On most models there is also a door in the back that you can open to access some of the hard to get jams.
  • Paper jam 2 – This is a jam that occurs when the paper is on the way out. This is usually the easiest to see. the paper is usually stuck in the output tray. You can gently pull it out. For those hard to get jams you can open the rear door on the printer and pull the paper out from that direction.
So, now you can stop getting so mad when you get a paper jam because you will know how to fix it every time.
