The Quick Q&A series features high-level conversations about why we love our partners and continue to recommend their solutions to clients.
In this edition of “Quick Q&A,” we talk about Dell-EMC with InterWorks Director of Enterprise Solutions Daniel Holm, IT Architecture and Solutions Lead Andrew Wooten and Global Director of Business Development Aaron Confer. They combined their responses into what you see below. First, let’s share a little background on our relationship with Dell-EMC.
InterWorks has been solidly partnered with Dell since the onset of their partner program. We helped to craft the reseller model and value-added resale motions for our mutual customers since around 2004. Since the early days of InterWorks, we’ve continued to appreciate and rely on their technical leadership and delivery. Through many shifts in the world’s technical landscape, Dell has remained a thought leader and reliable partner for InterWorks. Dell themselves have gone through many acquisitions and transitions, and even though technical relationships come and go, their core values have remained – always pushing technology forward, with the best customer experience. Today, they are Dell-EMC, and our partnership is as strong as ever.
Dell-EMC a Leader in All Facets of IT
Q: What do we at InterWorks like about Dell-EMC’s technology?
Holm / Wooten / Confer: Dell-EMC is an innovative technology leader. They continue to deliver modern technical solutions that support the mission of InterWorks IT Services: enabling our customers to securely, effectively and reliably work from anywhere, on any device, at any time. Dell’s broad portfolio has solutions ranging from endpoint to networking to servers and storage, hyperconvergence, as well as data protection, so there’s something for every customer. They also make the sales process super simple, manage an effective global supply chain, and back it up with professional level support and, in most cases, same-day parts availability if a hardware failure occurs.
Going a little deeper, Dell-EMC solutions go through rigorous testing and validation prior to being released, which helps increase reliability and minimizes potential issues. Take their server platform for example: Intel releases processors and chipsets ahead of general availability of a new PowerEdge version, but Dell-EMC takes time to properly write and test drivers, ensure overall compatibility and establish support methods before general release. With Dell-EMC’s solutions, we spend less time navigating problems during deployments and ongoing support, thus ensuring the mutual success of InterWorks and our customers.
Server, Storage, Hyperconvergence, Data Center & More
Q: Why and when would we recommend Dell-EMC to clients?
Holm / Wooten / Confer: We recommend Dell-EMC for all our server, storage and hyperconvergence needs; they’re very powerful and well-positioned in the data center. They match those solutions with a solid portfolio of low-latency data center networking options. From the end-user perspective, their Wyse thin clients, Latitude laptops and Optiplex desktops are cost effective, reliable and simple to manage. Their support and track record keeps us comfortable in positioning their technology almost exclusively in these areas.
Consistency, Coverage & Commitment to Excellence
Q: What do our clients like about Dell-EMC?
Holm / Wooten / Confer: Our clients appreciate the consistent delivery and support of technical solutions that drive the core of their business operations. Dell-EMC’s longtime status as a technology market leader is a testament to their reliability and commitment to excellence. Through acquisitions and development of new solutions, Dell-EMC currently offers the most complete portfolio of IT solutions in the market. Both InterWorks and our clients like that a single company can provide nearly every piece of technology required by the organization, simplifying support, management and procurement processes. Dell-EMC offers something for businesses of all shapes and sizes, including scalability sufficient for enterprise organizations yet practical for small businesses.
A Truly Complementary Partnership
Q: What makes our partnership with Dell-EMC a good one?
Holm / Wooten / Confer: As InterWorks is a highly technical services-based organization, Dell-EMC gives us access to the technology we know how to implement and maintain for our customers. We have formed a good relationship with both the channel and direct sales teams, and the partnership is overall better together where we can provide services, scoping and architecture, and avenues to sell. Dell-EMC reps grow to know and trust us, and they involve us to help with their customer solutions. Our commitment to Dell-EMC means we can provide customers with high technical proficiency across the full solution stack, ensure the right solutions are provided at the right time, the customers are satisfied with and able to efficiently manage those solutions, and loyal Dell-EMC customers are ultimately created.
