Two weeks ago, I shared “TCU @ Oklahoma State by the Numbers.” TCU had a solid advantage over OSU in most statistical categories leading into that game, yet OSU defied the numbers and came out with a convincing win. Last week, OSU scraped out a hard-fought win on the road at Iowa State – rallying from another 17-point deficit to maintain their perfect record.
Elsewhere in the Big 12, Baylor’s perfect season hopes were squashed at home by the hands of surging OU. But that’s all ancient history, as this week sets up another mammoth matchup in the Big 12’s “November to Remember:”
Baylor at Oklahoma State.
Baylor will travel up to the icy wasteland (comparatively) of Stillwater, Oklahoma, in hopes of playing spoiler to the Cowboys’ undefeated season while keeping their own Big 12 title chances alive. Though the stats appear fairly even (with the exception of Baylor’s edge in the run game), history has not been so kind to the Bears in Stillwater. Their last win in Cowboy Country came in 1939. Other major factors for tomorrow’s game include key injuries on both teams as well as a frigid forecast.
Will Baylor bounce back on the injured back of backup QB Jarrett Stidham to change history? Or, will the Cowboys’ defense freeze Baylor out like they did TCU a few weeks ago, inching one step closer to College Football Playoff glory? Only time will tell. Until then, check the stats and decide for yourself:
