If you’ve updated to the latest version of Java 7, update 51, you may be having trouble with some sites running Java. Specifically, you may be having issues with Group Manager for EqualLogic. If you try to browse to the group IP, you are greeted with a descirptive error of “Error: Click for details.” After clicking, you see the Security Exception: “Missing required Permissions manifest attribute in main jar:…” An easy workaround is to just use SAN HQ and click the link for Group Manager. Otherwise, here is how to fix it within Java:
Go to “Control Panel” and open Java.
Click on the “Security” tab and then click “Edit Site List…”
Click “Add” and type the URL for Group Manager. Example: http://172.26.0.1
Click “Continue” when you see the security warning, and click “OK” through the prompts.
Group Manager should now load in the browser. Why is this happening all of a sudden? You can thank Oracle for that: https://blogs.oracle.com/java-platform-group/entry/new_security_requirements_for_rias
