Rowan has always been motivated to help those with fewest opportunities and this was what inspired him to become a maths teacher in South Africa. Loving so many parts of the job, but having done a lot of soul searching (and a few Myers Briggs deep dives), Rowan realised he was made to help others through different skills and his journey to BI began. With his goal in sight, Rowan took his MBA whilst running his own private tutoring business and bringing up his beautiful children.
During work hours you will find Rowan using his mathematical mind solving problems and getting perhaps a little too excited at finding more efficient ways to do things. You'll also find him thinking of new and dynamic ways to help business intelligence grow in beautiful Scotland.
After work, his focus is his two young children, Florence and George. Rowan relishes his time with them which usually involves a lot of tickling, made-up songs or some sort of rough and tumble. Once they're in bed he and his lovely wife, Beth get some quality time together, chatting or watching a box-set. Some of my favourites would be Breaking Bad, The Wire and Peaky Blinders.
Outside of family life Rowan can be found helping at his local church, sitting on the board for a social enterprise (Make Do and Grow), hanging out with friends and playing football and golf whenever he can. Rowan loves to travel, having been born in Zimbabwe, grown up in South Africa and then having been 'imported' by his wife to the UK and enjoyed living in Sheffield and Glasgow.
