There are several good ways to check the voice mail for a workgroup in shoreTel. Here is a list of them, and some notes on getting them to work.
- The manual way – You can press the voice mail button on your phone. if it does not ask you for the extension number just press # (pound). Then put in the extension of your work group and the password followed by #.
- By Email – You can have voice mail’s Emailed to you every time a new one comes in. The down side to this is that you cannot delete the voice mails this way. First you have to make sure that SNTP is setup. If you are receiving any voice mails through emails it is fine. Then you want to log into shoreware director, and go to the work group in question. Then click on “Escalation Profiles and Other Mailbox Options”. Here you want to look under email delivery options. You can put whatever email address you want in the “Email Address” space. You then need to set “Deliver Message as Email” to “Attach WAV File”. And if you want you can click the box to mark the message as heard.
- In call Manager – The last option is to check messages using call manager. For this to work the user that is checking the mail must be a member of the work group and have one the following types of licenses: Operator, work group supervisor, work group agent. If they meet all of those requirements they can open up voicemail tab in call manager and see all the mailboxes for the workgroups they are members of. To open the voicemail tab click on the menu that says “Windows” then click on “voice mail”.
