A little over two weeks ago, InterWorks Volunteering Week brought out the best in our offices and our people this year. From Oklahoma and Oregon to the UK and remote workers, teams across the company spent the week giving back to the communities they call home. Here’s a look at how everyone showed up.
Stillwater
If there’s one thing that defines the Stillwater office, it’s community. That spirit has made our team the kind of group that’s always there to support and give back. This office volunteers monthly, and this time around they spent it with Our Daily Bread and Habitat for Humanity ReStore, two organizations we’ve built close relationships with over the years. Neither organization runs without volunteers, and we’re glad our team could pitch in. Well done, Stillwater peeps!

Tulsa
Not only did Tulsa take second place for most steps during Wellness Month, they also showed how much they care about giving back to their community. During Volunteer Week, Tulsa volunteered with the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, spending multiple hours packing bags of rice and oranges for the bank to distribute to families in need. The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is a regular favorite with the Tulsa team, and this marks the third time in the past year they’ve volunteered there. Nicely done, Tulsa fam!

Oklahoma City
For their Volunteer Week outing, our OKC team volunteered with Urban Mission, a food resource center that serves about 20,000 people a year across the Oklahoma City metro area. Volunteers are essential to Urban Mission’s work, and we’re grateful our team could support it. Chris Curtis and Austin Schwinn also came into town to join the OKC team!

Portland
PDX has been on a roll this year. Not only did they take first place for the most steps during Wellness Month, but they continue to show their commitment to giving back to their community. Last week, the team spent some time volunteering with Portland Parks and Recreation, helping remove invasive species from the cloud forest area of Washington Park. Thank you, PDX, for showing up for your community and making a positive impact. You all did a fantastic job!

Michigan
Henry Arend and Lindsey Ison spent a couple of hours volunteering with Fleece and Thank You, an organization that provides hand-tied blankets to children admitted into hospitals across Michigan. Together, they cut and tied three fleece blankets that will continue their journey to bring comfort and support to kids during their hospital stays. After their volunteer efforts, they wrapped up the day by enjoying a Great Lakes Loons baseball game at Dow Diamond!

Christchurch, UK
Megan Skeats and Wendy Orpwood spent time volunteering at Silverways Nursing Home, a charitable care home operated by Christchurch Housing Society. They shared their time and talents by singing with residents, helping make the residents’ day a little brighter. For nearly 80 years, Christchurch Housing Society has been dedicated to supporting older adults across Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch, with any surplus funds reinvested into the local community.

Thanks to All Our Volunteers!
Thanks to everyone across InterWorks who took part in this year’s Volunteering Week. Whether it was packing food, sorting donations, tying blankets or pulling weeds, our teams showed what it means to give back.
