InterWorks Teams Up with Automated Insights to Bring NLG to Tableau Dashboards

InterWorks Teams Up with Automated Insights to Bring NLG to Tableau Dashboards

We’re thrilled to unveil the next big partnership in the Tableau community. InterWorks is officially teaming up with Automated Insights to bring the power of written analytics to your Tableau visualizations! What exactly does this entail and how does it work? Let’s dive in.

About Automated Insights, Creators of Wordsmith

First, let’s get to know our friends at Automated Insights. Based in Durham, North Carolina, Automated Insights uses natural language generation (NLG) to make sense of the world’s data. They do this primarily through a product called Wordsmith – the world’s first public NLG platform. Wordsmith can be used alongside any number of business intelligence and data visualization platforms, including our favorite: Tableau Software.

“We’re excited to call Automated Insights a partner and are confident that their Wordsmith technology will open new doors for our clients, bringing the power of clear written analytics to their decision makers,” said Behfar Jahanshahi, CEO of InterWorks.

Tableau + Wordsmith

As a Tableau Gold Partner, InterWorks’ choice of business intelligence platform is a given. That brings us right to some important questions:

  1. How do Tableau and Wordsmith work together?
  2. What does this all mean for InterWorks clients?

Using the powerful Extensions API, Wordsmith integrates directly into Tableau. Once connected, users can then generate automated, written analytics to pair with their data visualizations. Imagine having automated analysis each segment of your audience – a paragraph for the CEO, one for managers and another for analysts. Wordsmith is smart enough to produce tailored descriptions for each group that get straight to the most important points buried within your data. That winning combination of visual and written analytics can help you make data-driven decisions that much faster.

As you might imagine, we think this is really exciting for InterWorks clients. The need for clear and concise written analysis is present in organizations of all sizes and in all industries. As Tableau experts, our job is to help clients get the most out of their Tableau investment, and Wordsmith is undoubtedly part of that equation. We’ve been spending a lot of time getting familiar with the extension and can help you leverage it in your Tableau dashboards for maximum effect.

“We’re delighted to be teaming up with InterWorks to deliver role-based written analytics to more Tableau users,” said Marc Zionts, CEO of Automated Insights. “InterWorks has extensive knowledge and expertise enabling organizations to leverage visual analytics, and now together with Wordsmith, they can empower users with an accurate, complete understanding of their data to make data-driven decisions even faster.”
