Webinar: Metric Insights & InterWorks – Push Intelligence for Tableau

InterWorks and Metric Insights recently put on an educational webinar about utilizing “Push Intelligence” for Tableau. The webinar was so well received that we decided to share for those of you who missed it.

Steve Mock of Metric Insights and InterWorks’ own, Charlie Sanders shared several best practices pointers for those wanting to leverage Push Intelligence for Tableau.

What is Push Intelligence?

Push Intelligence enables automated notification within your Tableau environment. The idea behind Push Intelligence is to increase user engagement by making use of push notifications when changes in your data occur. This keeps you on the edge of your data, allowing for quicker and more accurate analysis.

Increasing User Engagement

In the video, Charlie explains the growing number of InterWorks clients that wish to increase adoption and continued engagement of their BI tools. He explains that there are two trends occurring frequently with clients:

  1. They want to take more control of their user experience
  2. They want to implement push technologies to drive usage of their BI systems

Sanders uses a current 500-user deployment as an example. The client’s Tableau users can make use of Tableau’s subscribing technology to receive pre-rendered versions of the dashboards they want for the first few months, but the InterWorks plan extends beyond that. They want to continue modernizing the experience, keeping it fresh for the long-term and setting up better notifications.

The only way to achieve regular push notifications for Tableau is through extensive programming - until now. A new self-service platform from Metric Insights allows users to set up such notifications with no programming and little effort. The platform is simply called Push Intelligence for Tableau.

Advantages of Push Intelligence for Tableau

Push Intelligence for Tableau provides two crucial advantages right off the bat:

  1. Data-driven alerting
  2. Email bursting

This allows Tableau users in an organization a cleaner and faster way to stay connected to changes in their data. Steve covers the features in detail in the webinar, giving an in-depth look into creating these alerts and email notifications.
