Quick Reminder on Digital Copiers and Security

//

Just a reminder that all digital copiers since 2002 have hard drives and they keep a copy on them of anything copied, scanned or printed until it is full, then it starts writing over them again.  Some models can store thousands of the most recent items that went through them.  So just a reminder before a lease comes up or before a client decides to sell/get rid of a copier.

Depending on your company and the information that passes through the copier you might want to look at getting the hard drive wiped before the end of the lease, or seeing if there is an option available so that you can keep the hard drive like some of the servers now allow you to due under warranty replacements.
