Our Culture: Observations from an InterWorks Kid

At InterWorks, we value our team members’ families, and kids are often seen around our local offices. Our headquarters even has a Kids Club office! So many of us remember going to work with our parents as children—how grown up we felt being there, how special we felt when the adults spoke to us, how exciting it was to briefly enter the adult world we longed to inhabit. For us here at InterWorks, we think having kids around the office is a great opportunity for them to see what fun and exciting work can look like as an adult.

This summer, Isabella Wyers—daughter of Assist Lead Dustin Wyers—spent some time at the Tulsa office and decided to share her thoughts about the office culture through her own lens. Here’s what she wrote:

Atmosphere

Many office places are pretty stuffy. You wouldn’t think that some of them would be good work environments, but at InterWorks, the atmosphere is very homey and enjoyable. Everyone is busy but not too busy that they won’t speak to you if you have a question.

Style

The employees at the InterWorks workplace are allowed to express themselves. They don’t have a uniform or a requirement of what to wear. Everyone is welcome and gets to show off their styles, whether you’re a dad, cool dude, casual gal, hippie or something else!

Respect

Every time I get to decide where I want to go in the summer, I always choose to go to my dad’s office because I love it here (and that’s not just because of the food or the awesome ping pong table). I love coming here because of how they treat kids. They treat them like they are meant to be here, and sometimes, they even get to write blogs! Once, I even designed a logo, and it got on the website! Someday, I’ll work here.

Relationships

Everyone in the office is a part of a great friendship. Every single time I come to the office, everyone eats lunch together and has a relationship that makes others more comfortable.

Snacks

At the InterWorks office, the employees never get hungry. The food and drink supplies never end! That’s a plus on the kids’ side because we eat everything, and getting to try new things at the office is always fun. I was there when they catered lunch in once, and that was one of the most memorable days I’ve had at InterWorks.
