Those of you working with InterWorks already know this secret: We do a great deal of web development services for advertising, branding and marketing agencies. It isn’t necessarily a market that we targeted in our early days, so how did we earn the honor of supporting several great agencies?
In an effort to better understand our clients and our strengths, I spent some time recently trying to define why this relationship works so well. As you will see, finding the answer to success in providing web service support to agencies is no different than our success factors in all other areas of business.
Web Development Experts
Yeah, I said it. Web development experts. I didn’t say ‘web development ninjas’ or ‘website gurus’, so I am going a bit against the current trend in self promotion. We aren’t ninjas – I haven’t assassinated anyone in the process of creating a great website (although several have been maimed). We are not necessarily gurus either – few have traveled to our mountain top to listen as we speak of the esoteric philosophy of web.
We are a group of website developers, internet marketers and web strategists with significant background in making web-based projects successful. We have an excellent knowledge of usability, design for the web, content management systems (CMS for short) and overall project management. In short, we know what it takes to make a great website.
Tireless Customer Service
Look, I know you’ve have heard this a thousand times. It goes without saying that a company providing any tech services should provide great customer service, but I do believe that we take it to the next level. The founder/CEO established his company philosophy very early on:
If you take care of the client and take care of the employees, everything else will fall into place.
Although only a few of our clients have had the opportunity to hear our CEO make that statement, I strongly believe that none would be surprised to hear it.
Knowledge of the Industry
After you consider the basics of a great web development provider (expertise and great service), the only thing left is applied industry experience. InterWorks has made an effort to hire talented folks with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, creating a pool of knowledge that can be hard to beat. When it comes to supporting advertising, branding and marketing agencies in their web development efforts, our understanding of their client relationships and client expectations can really set us apart from most development groups.
Nothing New
So there you have it: I am offering nothing new in the way of a ‘golden key to success’. I set out to better understand this segment of our client base and try to nail down what makes us succeed in supporting these agencies when others have failed. In the end, this turns out to be no different than any of our other offerings at InterWorks. When you bring together some really talented people, apply their experience to client services and do everything possible to ensure that customer service is excellent – this appears to be the formula for success.
Of course, if you’d like to travel to our mountain top – Stillwater is pretty easy to get to.
