Medway Youth Trust (MYT) is a registered charity serving vulnerable youth in the Medway area of England, approximately 35 miles southeast of London. At Medway Youth Trust, trained advisors provide advice and guidance to at-risk youth in the hopes of helping them to create brighter futures. MYT has pioneered the use of predictive analytics within the public sector; this work culminated in a Gartner Business Intelligence Excellence award for MYT in February 2012.

Tableau dashboards have allowed Medway Youth Trust to connect information from a number of different data sources, including management systems in schools and colleges. This data can then be used to map the path of young people from the age of 12, through to their late teens or early twenties. The charity analyses the data and can assess the risk each young person faces of becoming unemployed. This allows the charity to act fast and provide guidance, often before the youngster has left full time education.

Medway Youth Trust win Gartner BI Excellence Award

Medway Youth Trust, A UK charity, has shown how the smallest organization can achieve striking results with business intelligence and data visualisation in winning Gartner’s BI Excellence Award 2012. Medway Youth Trust , with the help of IBM, InterWorks and Tableau Software show some best practices for IT leaders wanting to use data mining and predictive analytics on a small budget.

Medway Youth Trust has been chosen by East Sussex County Council to provide information, advice and guidance services (IAG) for 16-18 year olds throughout East Sussex. The contract starts on 1^st October 2013 and is initially for three years. The Youth Trust was awarded the contract last month and preparations are well underway for the service to start on schedule. Part of this contract will be to provide better data analytics and visualisations for East Sussex County Council.
