He’s done it again! InterWorks’ own Systems Engineer Ideen Jahanshahi claimed the title of “Best Veeam Engineer in the World” for the second consecutive year. Like last year, he earned the title along with $10,000 in prize money by coming in first place in Veeam’s LAB WARZ – a competition at Veeam’s annual VeeamON conference.

VeeamOn Picks Up Steam
Only two years old, the annual VeeamON Conference brings together IT pros from across the world to learn about the latest Veeam products and trends in backup. The conference was held in Las Vegas, NV, from Oct. 26-29 and included IT big shots like HP, Cisco, VMware and Microsoft. As one might expect, this year’s conference grew considerably from last year with even more opportunities to learn and network with the industry’s best.
Breaking Down LAB WARZ
A huge staple at VeeamON, LAB WARZ brings together the brightest Veeam experts and pits them against each other in a conference-long competition. Contestants must work through several backup and replication scenarios. The contestant with the highest cumulative score across these different scenarios wins the title of “Best Veeam Engineer in the World” and that massive check for $10,000. This year, contestants were tested with scenarios surrounding Veeam Availability Suite™ v8, providing an entirely different challenge from last year.
Why Ideen Keeps Winning
In last year’s announcement, we touched on what makes Ideen such a great Veeam engineer to begin with. In short, his tireless work ethic and wealth of experience across a diverse range of clients gives him quite the leg up. But why does Ideen keep winning? The secret is continual improvement.
Ideen, much like the rest of InterWorks, is always on the lookout for new ways to help our clients get more from their IT solutions. This means not only staying up to speed on the latest technology and trends but also actively applying them for numerous and diverse clients. And let us tell you, it takes a special person to juggle all of that. Ideen’s success at VeeamON is a reflection of his every day work, and that’s pretty incredible. So, for another year, we want to give him major props. Way to go, Ideen!
