We’re sure that many of you are familiar with Power Tools for Tableau by now. We call it Drawing Tool for Tableau.

What Is Drawing Tool for Tableau?

Drawing Tool is a free web app that gives you the freedom to draw custom polygons for use in Tableau in a matter of minutes. That means you no longer have to limit your geographic data mapping to the predetermined countries, states, territories and so on. If you’re familiar with creating custom polygons in Tableau by traditional means, you know how labor-intensive it can be. Drawing Tool takes the hassle out of that process, saving you considerable time and effort.

You can learn more about Drawing Tool for Tableau by viewing the official release announcement on the Power Tools for Tableau site.

You can also see Drawing Tool in action by watching this two-minute tutorial video or by checking out this step-by-step example.
