Visualizations can serve different purposes. Whether it’s business reporting, sharing production status or providing a research summary, there are endless applications for dashboards, but they all have one thing in common: storytelling.
While we create stories to explain business issues to each other every day, other topics deserve our attention as well. The stories that carry social impact and have can affect social change are the most important ones to tell. One of those significant issues is the matter of rebuilding Nepal.
Data Storytelling with a Purpose
In collaboration with Viz for Social Good and Build up Nepal, 80 visualizations were made to help us better understand the widespread housing issues in Nepal. Some of those visualizations will serve as tools for Build up Nepal to communicate important insights to their stakeholders, partners and government entities. In addition, these community-created dashboards will hopefully increase the support the organization will receive, further enabling them to provide even more targeted and critical aid to those in need.
