There are few honors we appreciate more than being named an excellent workplace, and that’s exactly what happened on Nov. 4 in Oklahoma City. For the 11th consecutive year, The Journal Record listed InterWorks as one of the “Best Places to Work in Oklahoma.” You can see the full list of honorees here.
Though this isn’t our first rodeo, the honor feels fresh every year. It’s impressive enough to make this prestigious list for one year, but to do so consistently is something we’re immensely proud to achieve. To everyone at InterWorks, along with our fantastic clients, we want to say a hearty “thank you.” On that note, allow me to let you in on a little secret of how we define and pursue excellence.
InterWorks’ Definition of “Best”
The word “best” gets thrown out a lot these days, but what does it really mean to be the best? No doubt, many could argue that “best” is a highly subjective term. Beauty is in the eye of beholder, another man’s trash is another man’s treasure – you know, all that.
As The Journal Record measures it, honorees on the “Best Places to Work in Oklahoma” are organizations that reach a certain benchmark regarding employee sentiment, benefits provided and overall company culture. This information is gathered by way of anonymous employee feedback surveys, as well as an employer benefits survey. It’s about as objective as you can get, but we still recognize that there are many other methodologies for measuring success.
Additionally, while external validation is always nice and useful, we’re more compelled by our own internal guiding principles. What “best” means to InterWorks is largely driven by how we measure ourselves against our own internal mantra, which is:
“Do the best work for the best clients with the best people.”
You can learn more about what that actually means in this piece from our CEO, Behfar Jahanshahi. Also, if you’re interested in joining our team of “best people,” we encourage you to apply for an open position on our Careers page! We’ll close by saying thanks again to everyone who makes InterWorks such a great place to work.
