Speakers:
Joshua Skarphol a Senior Solutions Architect with Snowflake’s Technical Services team. He has spent 15+ years working on data warehouses in the healthcare and retail industries, in a number of different roles from developer to DBA to architect. While most of his experience has been in SQL Server and Teradata, he recently led an initiative to implement Snowflake at Nike after evaluating other cloud data warehousing solutions from Redshift and Teradata. He brings his experience evaluating and implementing data warehouses to help Snowflake’s customers successfully implement their own data warehouses with Snowflake.
James Wright leads InterWorks’ global analytics practice, enabling data-driven decisions through collaborative and innovative BI solutions. His 15 years of analytics experience includes neural network-based linguistic research, systems engineering, new product development, R&D leadership, and analytics CoE creation across a variety of verticals. In an industry consumed with 1s and 0s, James believes that robust solutions start with passion, communication, and partnership. James’ strategy focuses on the challenges of scale, heterogeneity, and self-service that are endemic to modern analytics. When not in the office, James is most likely found hanging from a cliff face and grinning. His ongoing love affair with mountains takes him around the world in search of rocky cliffs, snowy slopes, and frozen waterfalls.
