CHALLENGE:

The world’s largest biotechnology organization, Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) looked to consolidate their previous blog system into a cohesive informational site that would serve as a resource among the biotechnology industry community including industry leaders, legislators and organization members.

SOLUTION: 

Developers at InterWorks took the various requirements and approaches from BIO into consideration when creating a multiblog WordPress platform, such as authoring abilities and compatibilities with old data from previous blogs. InterWorks worked with Baker & Hill’s proposed design for the site and merged it with the technical needs outlined for the project. InterWorks then also provided training for the client regarding how to use the site and all of its functions to maximize the full capabilities of the new platform.

RESULTS:

With the new multiblog platform developed by InterWorks, BIO was able to merge a new unified blogging system with all of the needs of their social media front. The new design also allows for better integration for social media tools such as Twitter and Facebook for greater community interaction. The BIOtechNOW site was successfully launched on June 21, 2011 to coincide with BIO’s 2011 International Convention in Washington D.C.
