VMWorld 2018 continues to provide insight into strategic partnerships and upcoming product feature releases. Our Day 2 recap focuses on some key NSX highlights:
- VMware NSX-T Data Center 2.3 is projected to release by October 31 of this year. It simplifies installation, configuration and management through new deployment workflows. The full features enable administrators to express policies in a declarative fashion and apply to the data center.
- NSX-T Data Center’s integration in vRealize Network Insight 3.9 allows customers to accelerate micro-segmentation planning, application migration and gain operational views to manage, scale and enforce compliance for VMware NSX data center deployments. Using vRealize Network Insight, customers shrink time to market and lower costs associated with security planning and migration for mission-critical applications.
- VMware and Arista create firewall rules in NSX and translate those into policies at the switch. Cloud Vision configures the construct to any top-of-rack switch connected to the VLAN assigned. With the programming in place, we expect other hardware vendors to be offering this integration soon. Check out the full Arista press release for more information.
- VMware is disrupting the networking community as it expands NSX through Velo Cloud and the full Virtual Cloud Network (“VCN”) solution. Check out VMware’s overview of VCN here.
