Love What You do, do What You Love: an Internet Marketing Endeavor
Have you ever started a new job so completely nervous that you couldn’t contribute to your best ability? Yeah… me either.
I’m joking. I’ve definitely been there, but as I’ve gone through a few botched interviews and some successful internships and jobs, I’ve realized the real cure to stepping up to the plate is knowing and loving what you’re doing.
I just began a job at Interworks Inc. as a part of their Internet marketing team, and so far it’s great. I got to where I am right now because for this particular job, I knew what I was doing and I love it. Social media, target and market research, pay per click advertising, Internet marketing, everything I’m required to do here interests me. HOWEVER, I have a confession- I didn’t always love it. I had general interest in the topics, but never enough to make me great. Until I began looking at it in a different way, that is.
Truth: It wasn’t until I began trying to be a master at something that I really enjoyed doing it.
My advice is to unleash your competitive streak. Learn all you can about your topic of choice and begin at level one. Level one is essentially just practice, right? Try it out. See if you can find new ways to do things that will take your venture to the next level.
I’ve completed level one at this point. I’ve learned the basics of the Internet marketing industry; now I’m attempting to better myself at it and ultimately, be the best that I can be. On the road to the honorable title of Internet marketing master, I’ll have a lot of information and advice to share. Therefore, consider this the first of many blogs written by me. As time goes on, my blogs will begin to go more in-depth on topics such as social media, pay per click advertising, and so on.
Until the next post,
