Gartner’s 2014 Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms was recently released, and we weren’t surprised with the results. Tableau Software and Alteryx, both of which are InterWorks partners, made the Magic Quadrant for the second consecutive year. What’s more impressive? Both have done nothing but improve.

Each year, Gartner uses their extensive research to compile quadrants outlining leaders, visionaries, challengers and niche players across various areas of the technology industry.
Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms is one of these quadrants. The purpose of these Magic Quadrants is to identify innovators within the field of technology based off extensiveand detailed criteria.

Tableau Software, the Data Visualization Leader
Over the past few years, Tableau has been considered a revolutionary among the business intelligence and analytics communities. Due to increasing strides in their products’ capabilities and excellence, Tableau has become a leader in these fields. This past year, Tableau experienced a landmark year like no other. Consequently, Tableau is no longer just a leader in business intelligence and analytics Gartner’s eyes, they are the leader. This is something we at InterWorks have believed in for some time, and we’re as proud as ever to call the folks at Tableau our partners.
In short, Tableau’s latest product releases jettisoned them ahead of the competition. Increased recognition of the value of data discovery, an area at which Tableau excels, also contributed greatly to Tableau’s ascendance.

Alteryx, a Rising Visionary
Another great success story reflected through the Magic Quadrant is the progress which Alteryx has made over the past year. They continue to improve upon their groundbreaking Alteryx for Visual Analytics platform. These improvements have certainly paid off, transitioning Alteryx from Niche Player to Visionary. Excellence in geospatial analytics and their ability to effortlessly cleanse and blend data from any source imaginable has been a boon to their success.
