Non-Traditional Data Sources in Tableau

Tableau gives us a lot of ways to connect to data. We can easily connect to Excel, Access, SQL Server, Oracle … the list goes on and on. One place that’s not in that list is email. We get a lot of data that’s been copied from some data source somewhere and pasted into email. It’s actually very easy to bring that data into Tableau. Simply copy the data (assuming it’s formatted as columns and rows) and paste it into Tableau. I’ve created the following short video to demonstrate this technique.
