If you get a “setup has detected that your computer needs to be rebooted before continuing” error message while installing software, and a reboot doesn’t do the trick, try the following:

Modify the Windows Registry

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following registry key:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetControlSession Manager
3. In the right pane, right-click PendingFileRenameOperations, and then click Delete.
