Deleting Rogue Email Accounts From the Blackberry Handheld

I recently switched Blackberries using the device transfer wizard from the Blackberry Desktop manager.  My old device was set up with BES; the new one is using BIS.  After copying all information, I found that my old BES and device email accounts had been copied to the new phone and could not be deleted.  Because of how the accounts were set up, I couldn’t send email from my work BIS email account (no send option).

I removed all the email accounts from BIS (online) and resent the service books to my phone but the accounts were still there.  After scouring the internet and spending an hour on the phone with BB support through T-Mobile, I finally found a way to remove the old email accounts from the phone.

On the handheld:

Click on settings > options > advanced options > service book.  Scroll through the list, highlight the email account that you want to remove and click menu > delete.  Repeat for any other rogue account.

After removing the accounts, pull the battery or resend the service books to refresh the account information.
