Tips from the Techy, volume 4

//

This last minute blog is something that is beneficial for Windows 7.

So after you install one of several Windows 7versions, you will still need to make one adjustments

RATE YOUR COMPUTER:

1.  Click on Start (the Windows icon in the lower left-hand corner)

2.  Right-click on Computer and select Properties

3.  In the System row, select “Rate your Computer“.

After you start this process Windows Experience Index will take a few minutes rating your computer’s Processor, Memory (RAM), Graphics, Gaming graphics, and Primary Hard Disk.  Each of these key components are rated on a scale of 1.0 to 7.9.  Depending on the components within your computer, the index will provide subscores, then a base score determined by the lowest subscore.

Mine is 3.9.  This score will determine if your computer is capable with the Windows 7 Operating System and how it may perform.  Your graphic subscore determines if you have the capability of using the Windows Aero features.

So be sure to rate your computer after you crack open the brand new computer box, run through the configurations, and fire into Windows.

Until next time, have a great evening.
