Video: Improving Workbook Performance Using the Tableau Performance Checklist

Video: Improving Workbook Performance Using the Tableau Performance Checklist

by Katie Wagner

Just a few days ago, I had the privilege of attending and presenting at the latest Baton Rouge TUG meeting. As an LSU alumnus (Geaux Tigers!), I was thrilled at the opportunity. It was also great to see how much the Tableau community has grown there.

My presentation covered something every Tableau user seeks to achieve: improved workbook performance. It’s something we help clients with every day at InterWorks. We’ve even created a number of resources to help others improve workbook performance. Of these resources, our Tableau Performance Checklist is the most comprehensive. So, I based my presentation on it.

Below is a video recording of that same presentation. In it, I cover the entire checklist and walk through several points directly in Tableau. Hope it helps!

If you want a detailed overview of a specific point on the checklist, you can check out our ongoing Tableau Performance Checklist Series. And if you want to make workbook performance tuning a breeze, you’ll definitely want to try out our Performance Analyzer, part of Workbook Tools for Tableau.
