“Fightin’ Words” Reached #1 Paid Game Status in BlackBerry App World

OKC, OKLA. — Oklahoma’s premier I.T. Solutions company, InterWorks, Inc., successfully developed and released the “Fightin’ Words” app game to BlackBerry App World in May 2011.  Downloaded in over 40 countries, the game is quickly being well received by users and is currently displayed as the most popular paid game in the BlackBerry App World.  Not only is it the most popular game, but is ranking as the Fifth Most Popular App in the BlackBerry Market overall.

“Fightin’ Words” is a crossword game that allows players to battle with a live opponent to dominate the board by strategically placing words while collecting points.

The latest game update (Version 1.22) on July 20 gave users the ability to invite friends through their contact list and made improvements in push notifications and word detection.

Support for Other Mobile Platforms
InterWorks not only recognized a gap within the BlackBerry market for such crossword style game, but has also recognized the importance in cross-platform gaming for users. With the popularity of a variety of smart phones, players want to be able to engage in games with friends who might not have the same mobile device as they do. The developers at InterWorks are working to make “Fightin’ Words” a true cross platform mobile app, available to a wide array of players. Mobile App Developers at InterWorks are finishing the final touches on the Android version due out in August, with the Apple iOS version due to be released by the end of this year.

Social Media Reaction
Fans have contributed to the explosive growth by turning to “Fightin’ Words” Facebook page and Twitter feed to post user names and to give opinions of the game. Users can also visit the official “Fightin’ Words” website to post their thoughts about the game and connect with other players.

While the regular download price of “Fightin’ Words” is $2.99 on the BlackBerry App World market, for the month of July, BlackBerry users can download the game for just 99¢. “Fightin’ Words” also holds contests through their official Twitter account to give away free downloads of the game to participants.
