Having grown up in a small village on the South Coast of England watching travel programmes Lucie knew from an early age that she wanted to spread her wings and explore. The first step was to apply her aptitude for learning in gaining a degree in French and Spanish at the University of Sussex in Brighton which included an Erasmus year at Complutense University of Madrid.
Shortly after gaining her degree Lucie opted for a career in the mortgage sector but like so many after the crash Lucie found herself searching for her next big challenge. With a passion for not-for-profit and giving back, Lucie was able to further her love for travel. Over the course of 6 years she worked in 11 African countries and it was at this time she was inspired by data. Data that made a difference outside of the corporate world; it was a Hans Rosling presentation at a family planning conference in Uganda that first showed her the power of great data visualisation.
Outside of data and travel Lucie pursues her love of hot yoga, long walks and cooking, and if she can combine all three in one weekend even better! Lucie is not planning on settling in one spot any time soon but if she did then her dream would is to be the proud owner of a sausage dog.
